Titans’ Jeffery Simmons Becomes Highest-Paid Defensive Tackle in NFL History
On Friday, the Tennessee Titans signed defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons to a three-year, $105.8 million contract extension with $100 million guaranteed, making him the highest-paid defensive tackle in NFL history.
The 28-year-old earned this extension after a dominant 2025 campaign, receiving his first First Team All-Pro recognition and leading NFL interior defensive linemen with 11 sacks and 60 quarterback pressures.
Drafted 19th overall in 2019, Simmons has appeared in 99 games with 97 starts, accumulating 383 tackles and 42.5 sacks over his career with the Titans.
Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi called Simmons a "pillar of the franchise," while Simmons said, "Tennessee has become a second home for me," expressing mutual commitment.
The Titans currently hold $49.5 million in cap space as Simmons prepares for the 2026 season under new head coach Robert Saleh, solidifying long-term roster flexibility.
