Steve Tisch, Siblings Request Transfer of Their Stakes in Giants to Children's Trusts, per NFL Memo
The Tisch siblings seek NFL approval to transfer their 23.1% ownership in the Giants to their children’s trusts as part of routine succession planning, pending Finance Committee review.
- New York Giants co-owners Steve, Laurie and Jonathan Tisch asked the NFL's Finance Committee to approve transferring their remaining interests, totaling 23.1%, into their children's trusts, according to an ESPN report.
- Those close to the family described the request as part of normal succession and estate planning, noting prior transfers to the Trusts had 2023 and 2024 Finance Committee approvals.
- After the DOJ release, documents show Tisch's name appears at least 440 times with emails from around 2013, and Tisch said, 'We had a brief association where we exchanged emails about adult women, and in addition, we discussed movies, philanthropy and investments.'
- With little comment from the Giants and league, the NFL will discuss the transfer at its annual meetings, and Goodell said, 'You may be getting ahead of yourself on the second part'.
- Historically, the Giants have been controlled by the Mara family since 1925 and Robert Tisch, who purchased 50% in 1991; last year, both families sold a 10% noncontrolling interest to Julia Koch and the Koch family.
