Tinubu Inaugurates NNPCL Board, Executive Management
- On May 22, 2025, President Bola Tinubu officially inducted the new 11-member board and executive leadership of NNPCL during a ceremony held at Aso Rock Villa in Abuja.
- The swearing-in followed their appointments announced on April 2, 2025, after President Tinubu dismissed the previous board including former CEO Mele Kyari and Chairman Pius Akinyelure.
- The board consists of representatives from each of Nigeria’s major regional divisions as well as key government ministries, featuring Non-Executive Chairman Ahmadu Kida and CEO Bashir Ojulari.
- President Tinubu directed the new board to boost the nation’s oil production to two million barrels per day by 2027 and further increase it to three million barrels per day by 2030, alongside raising gas output to 8 billion cubic feet per day by 2027.
- After the ceremony, President Tinubu proceeded to participate in the All Progressives Congress gathering held at the official residence, emphasizing his administration’s commitment to reforming the energy sector and advancing economic objectives.
