Time served for South Okanagan prolific offender’s standoff firearm charge
Samuel-Luc Prescott-Pereault pleaded guilty and received time served after police found a hidden revolver during the motel standoff, court records show.
- Samuel-Luc Prescott-Pereault appeared via video from the Okanagan Correctional Centre on May 12 to plead guilty and receive a sentence of time served for possessing a firearm contrary to a court order.
- Penticton RCMP followed Prescott-Pereault to a motel unit on Lakeshore Drive on Feb. 14, 2025, after he was spotted on an outstanding warrant, prompting officers to bring in the Emergency Response Team.
- Officers discovered two firearms during a search of the unit, including one loaded magnum revolver wrapped in a towel, after Prescott-Pereault and two other individuals surrendered following the hours-long standoff.
- The judge imposed a 341-day sentence accounting for time already in custody, with Prescott-Pereault receiving a two-year probation, mandatory DNA sample requirement, and a second lifetime firearms prohibition.
- Prescott-Pereault's criminal history in the South Okanagan dates back to 2016 and includes a 120-day sentence received on March 19, 2026, for a separate firearm-related offence.
