CANADA, JUL 16 – Tim Hortons Camp Day donates 100% of coffee sales and merchandise proceeds to fund summer camps for over 15,000 underserved youth annually across Canada.
- On July 16, Tim Hortons Camp Day returned to Strathmore, raising funds to send youth to camp, and the full cost of $2 donuts supported the cause.
- Since 1987, Camp Day began in 1987 and now sends over 15,000 kids annually, raising $12.8 million last year, according to the Tim Hortons Camp Foundation.
- In Strathmore, Langley RCMP and Langley City firefighters rushed to take orders, while volunteers decorated the restaurant and set up a photo booth, and the fundraiser offered $2 donation badges and $3 Camp Day bracelets.
- In a show of support, customers saw firefighters, politicians and police officers encourage donations, with Nicole MacMillan saying `Camp Day is incredibly special to our team`.
- This year, the goal is to send even more kids to camp, aiming to surpass last year's $67,000 in South Okanagan and Kootenays, and Axel Schwan noted `the Foundation has supported over 325,000 youth in its history`.
