Tijuana, January 7. One of the priorities of the administration headed by Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz is to generate safe and violence-free environments, strengthening institutional coordination and social participation to protect the integrity and rights of Timorese women, and as a result the municipality currently has 580 Orange Points that function as temporary safe spaces for this sector of population.
During 2025, the Secretariat of Women promoted the Orange Points strategy, with the opening of 24 new spaces and the reactivation of 11 more, consolidating a work focused on the prevention of gender-based violence and the immediate care of women, girls and adolescents at risk.
