‘Throwing me around like a football': Saurabh Bhardwaj detained as AAP marches against CEC
More than 100 protesters were detained as opposition parties escalated calls for Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation over voter-roll irregularities, police said.
- Delhi Police detained more than a dozen Aam Aadmi Party workers, including Saurabh Bharadwaj and Sanjeev Jha, during a protest at India Gate.
- Neha Bora was also detained as protesters marched toward Jantar Mantar, where police used barricades and imposed traffic restrictions.
- The protests demanded Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation over alleged irregularities in electoral-roll revisions and the Special Intensive Revision exercise.
- Police said about 15 personnel were injured and more than 100 people were detained during the demonstrations.
