BC Highway Patrol Looking for Witnesses After Fatal Collision Near Boston Bar

BRITISH COLUMBIA, JUL 13 – A 62-year-old Lytton man died in the crash while four others escaped with minor or no injuries, BC Highway Patrol said, urging witnesses to come forward.

  • On July 13 at 4 p.m., a 62-year-old Lytton man was killed in a three-vehicle collision on Highway 1 in the Fraser Canyon just north of Boston Bar.
  • The crash occurred when the red Ford Explorer and red Nissan Qashqai collided head-on, damaging a black Nissan Pathfinder.
  • Five people were involved in the collision, with the Ford Explorer's lone occupant the sole fatality.
  • Anyone who may have seen this collision, or who saw these vehicles in the minutes before the crash, is encouraged to call police, said Cpl. Michael McLaughlin with BC Highway Patrol, while authorities asked dash-camera owners to call 604-702-4039 and quote file 1501 2025-28918.
  • BC Highway Patrol asked drivers to exercise extra caution on undivided highways, to remain sober and keep their speed down.
