Somalia: All 7 Surviving Pakistani Crew Members Rescued After Somalia Pirate Hijacking
The crew is expected to reach Karachi after months of captivity that left five sailors dead and four others injured, officials said.

- Somali pirates hijacked the Palau-flagged oil tanker MT Honour 25 on April 21, seizing the vessel with 19 crew members on board, including 10 Pakistani nationals, off the coast of Puntland.
- During the rescue operation led by Puntland Maritime Police Force and the European Union Naval Force Operation Atalanta, five crew members were killed, including three Pakistanis, while four injured sailors arrived in Karachi on Sunday.
- Dar expressed gratitude to the Somali government and the European Union Naval Force Operation Atalanta for their cooperation, reaffirming Pakistan's commitment to combating maritime piracy and safeguarding international shipping routes.
- The Gulf of Aden and Somalia coasts have experienced a resurgence in piracy, with at least 15 attacks recorded this year—the highest number since 2013—according to figures from the International Maritime Organisation.

ISLAMABAD - Deputy Prime Minister/ Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, on Monday, said that the three remaining Pakistani crew members of MT Honour 25 had been successfully rescued and flown to Addis Ababa, accompanied by a team from the Embassy of Pakistan in Djibouti.
The captain of MT Honour 25, Ashari Samadikun from Gowa, was finally freed from Somali pirates after being held hostage for months.
