Three Maoists Killed in Encounter with Police in Chhattisgarh's Sukma

On Sunday, three Naxalites were killed in an encounter in Sukma district, with bodies recovered after a clash between Bhejji and Chintagufa police station areas, police said.
Acting on intelligence, the District Reserve Guard launched a search that engaged Maoist cadres during routine operations, Superintendent of Police Kiran Chavan said.
Police named the killed cadres as Madvi Deva, Podiam Gangi and Sodhi Gangi, each carrying a 5 lakh reward, and seized a.303 rifle, BGLs, and explosives.
The security drive continues, and authorities report that local search teams are still working adjoining areas, with the Chhattisgarh state tally reaching 262 Naxalites killed this year.
Of this year's casualties, most were in Bastar, where 233 were eliminated in Bastar division covering seven districts including Sukma, and the Union Ministry of Home Affairs reported affected districts fell to 11 from 18 last month.
