Children Drugged in Human Trafficking Sex Ring Uncovered in Underground Bunker, Officials Say
BIBB COUNTY, ALABAMA, JUL 20 – Seven suspects, including family members, face charges of rape, human trafficking, and sexual torture involving at least six children held captive and abused in an underground bunker in Alabama.
- Three men from Brent, Alabama, were taken into custody in connection with a child sexual abuse investigation involving an underground bunker in Bibb County, which began on February 4, 2025.
- The investigation started after reports raised concerns of child sexual abuse involving victims aged 3 to 10, with abuses continuing through 2024 and 2025.
- Suspects William Chase McElroy and Dalton Terrell face multiple charges including first-degree rape, sodomy, human trafficking, and kidnapping, while Andres Velazquez-Trejo faces human trafficking charges only.
- Sheriff Jody Wade emphasized that Bibb County will not accept such unacceptable actions, and those responsible will be prosecuted to the maximum degree permitted by law; all suspects remain in custody without the option of bail.
- The three men were formally charged on July 11, 2025, and their arraignment is set for August, while officials expect more victims to come forward and anticipate further arrests.
