Three Iranians charged under National Security Act after investigation by UK counter-terror police

Three Iranian men—Mostafa Sepahvand, Farhad Javadi Manesh, and Shapoor Qalehali Khani Noori—have been charged in the UK under the National Security Act for assisting a foreign intelligence service between August 2024 and February 2025.
The charges follow a counter-terrorism investigation that uncovered surveillance and reconnaissance activities intended to support serious violence by or against persons in the UK.
The investigation led to the men’s arrest two weeks ago and additional raids across Greater Manchester, London, and Swindon resulted in the detention of five more Iranian nationals aged 29 to 46.
Dominic Murphy, who leads the Counter Terrorism Command, characterized the charges as very serious and appealed to the public to refrain from speculation, stressing the importance of allowing the legal process to proceed without interference.
The three men are scheduled to attend a hearing at Westminster Magistrates Court this Saturday, reflecting ongoing legal action and continued counter-terrorism measures in the UK.
