Three children in hospital after pram hit by trailer

Three children aged under two were hospitalized after a trailer detached from a Mitsubishi Outlander and struck their pram, police said the investigation is ongoing.

  • On Monday around 3.15pm, three children were taken to hospital after a trailer detached and struck the pram on Pleasance Avenue, Dumfries.
  • Investigators believe the trailer detached from a Mitsubishi Outlander, which then mounted the pavement and struck the pram in Dumfries on October 13.
  • Three children aged eight months, 14 months and 18 months were initially taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary and later transferred to the Royal Children's Hospital in Glasgow where medical staff are assessing their injuries.
  • A police probe has been launched and the road remains closed while officers examine the scene, with Sergeant David Kerr urging witnesses or dashcam owners to call 101, quoting reference 1870 of 13 October.
  • The woman who was pushing the pram was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.
