Three charged with attempted murder after shooting
Two teenagers and a third person were injured after the shooting, and police said one suspect also faces separate charges linked to other investigations.
Three people have been charged with attempted murder following a shooting in Braintree's Market Place on Monday, August 31. They are due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on Monday, September 7.
A shotgun was fired in the Braintree town centre, leaving two teenagers with serious injuries to their face and upper body. A third person also sustained injuries during the incident.
Destiny Ema, 23, of Meadgate Avenue, Chelmsford, and Kayden Brown, 18, of Noaks Avenue, Chelmsford, are among those charged. An unnamed 17-year-old from Braintree also faces attempted murder charges.
Ema faces additional charges including harassment, malicious communications, and possession of a shotgun with intent to cause fear of violence. These offenses are connected to separate investigations.
A 16-year-old boy previously arrested in connection with the incident has been released by Essex Police on bail until November 30. This development provides context on ongoing police activity.
