Police said the arrests were made to help gather information and protect those involved as forensic teams searched Baiter Park and a Poole address.
On Friday, May 29, 2026, a man reportedly went overboard from a sailing boat in Arne Bay; Dorset Police received the report two days later at 6.56 pm on Sunday, May 31, 2026.
An investigation is underway into why the incident was reported two days after it occurred, while the man's whereabouts remains unknown despite detailed searches continuing.
Three men—a 46-year-old from Poole, a 31-year-old of no fixed abode, and a 22-year-old from Essex—have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody.
South West Police Forensics officers searched addresses at Walking Field Lane and Baiter Park in Poole on Monday, June 1, 2026, as part of the ongoing inquiry.
Officers are "working hard to establish a clear picture" of the incident and urged the public to "refrain from speculating" as detailed searches continue to locate the man.
