Thousands of dressers sold on Amazon recalled over tip-over hazard, CPSC says
The CPSC said the six-drawer dressers were unstable unless anchored and violated federal safety standards, with no injuries reported.
On Thursday, October 8, 2026, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of about 12,078 Romorgniz six-drawer dressers after finding them unstable if not anchored to a wall.
The CPSC reported these dressers violated mandatory furniture stability standards established under the STURDY Act, a federal law designed to prevent furniture tip-overs that can injure or kill children.
Sold on Amazon from May 2025 through August 2026, the units cost between $100 and $170 and measure approximately 27.6 inches wide, 15.6 inches long, 43.2 inches tall, and weigh about 73.3 pounds.
Consumers should stop using unanchored units immediately and contact the company for a refund, which requires marking the dresser "RECALLED," removing drawers, and emailing photographic proof before disposal.
Retailers including Wayfair, Temu, and Walmart also recalled thousands of dressers last month for failing to meet mandatory safety standards, indicating a broader industry compliance issue.
