- On Friday, The Central Okanagan Regional District downgraded evacuation orders for about 2,600 properties near Okanagan Lake, allowing residents of more than 2,000 homes to return.
- Summerland, a community of 12,000, remains under evacuation orders due to the deadly Bald Range fire, which exploded last weekend and now measures about 190 square kilometres.
- The Wildfire Service declared the Quilpituk Creek fire held on Thursday, though the Bald Range fire continues showing rank four behavior, including "passive crown fire" in trees.
- Rogers Communications is opening satellite phone and data services across British Columbia, providing a "layer of connectivity where it's needed" when cell towers face wildfire damage.
- British Columbia currently battles about 110 fires, with about 50 listed as out of control, as swirling winds and clearer skies continue fueling fire activity.
