Don did get a nice pic of this male dark-eyed junco, which is very distinctive with its pale beak and white belly contrasting with dark grey uppers. Based on data from several New Brunswick Christmas Bird Counts and my own observations, there is an unusually high number of juncos wintering in the province this winter as they seem to be present at the majority of active bird feeders.
