The Central Statistical Office provided data on inflation in Poland. There is a surprise.
Inflation in Poland in May was 4 percent year-on-year, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) reported on Friday. This is a downward revision compared to the flash estimate from two weeks ago (4.1 percent). For the first time in over a year and a half, the GUS inflation basket has become cheaper month-on-month.
Good news from the Central Statistical Office. Consumer inflation in Poland is falling, in May it fell to 4% year-on-year, which is a positive surprise. There are many indications that the coming months will bring further downward movement and the NBP target may soon be achieved.
