This wasn't a door being ripped off its hinges or "kicked in." Firefighters broke the lock and pried it open with specialized tools. We have a photo of the damage after the emergency services entered the apartment of President Nawrocki's mother. "If the owner submits a claim and presents the costs, the fire chief will conduct an investigation into the compensation and may award it," we hear from the Ministry of Interior and Administration.
"I stand with the Polish firefighters and police officers. I believe they acted in accordance with procedures. I think it's good that they went in and checked. [...] I believe the fire department did the right thing," said Sejm Speaker Włodzimierz Czarzasty, commenting on the forced entry into an apartment in Gdańsk belonging to the mother of President Karol Nawrocki.
