McMurtry Spéirling PURE EV Revealed with F1-Rivalling Performance for Almost $2 Million
The limited-run hypercar uses giant fans for suction downforce and reaches 0-60 mph in 1.55 seconds, McMurtry said.
On Thursday, McMurtry Automotive unveiled the production version of its 1,000-horsepower Speirling PURE, a track-only electric hypercar priced at approximately $1.3 million.
The vehicle utilizes a unique Downforce-on-Demand system featuring dual fans spinning up to 23,000 rpm that create a vacuum underneath the hypercar, generating 4,400 pounds of downforce to increase traction.
Stretched 11% longer and 14% wider than its prototype, the production Speirling features a 100-kWh battery and a wheelbase extended to 86.6 inches, with McMurtry redesigning 95% of components for the final build.
McMurtry will produce only 99 units of the Speirling at its factory in the Cotswolds, England, with customer deliveries beginning later this year at the stated price.
Prospective buyers can view the hypercar at the Goodwood Festival of Speed from July 9-12 and at The Quail in Carmel, CA, on August 14, while the car remains eligible for Global Time Attack competition.
