- On Jan. 8, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced TJX Companies recalled more than 20,000 Isla Rae magnetic wireless chargers sold at T.J. Maxx and Marshalls nationwide.
- A lithium-ion battery defect can cause the Isla Rae magnetic power bank to explode while charging, posing a fire hazard; models RM5PBM and RM5PBMDP attach magnetically to phones under the 5000 mAh 3.7V marking.
- Roughly 13,200 chargers were sold in the United States and an additional 3,000 in Canada for $15 each, available in white, pink and purple from June 2024 to Nov. 2025.
- Owners should immediately stop using the chargers and register at www.recallrtr.com to get physical check refunds and dispose of them at local municipal household hazardous waste collection centers.
