As an islet in the middle of a scorched landscape, the home of a married couple in the Albanian coastal town of Himarë remained standing. While last week's fire destroyed several nearby homes and downed trees as well as other vegetation, their dwellings withstood the flames. They were helped by long-term care of the surroundings of the house.
