In the world, about 500,000 people die each year because of exposure to high temperatures. In Mexico, 83 died in 2025 for the same reason and in 2024 there were more than 330 deaths associated with this phenomenon, alerted the sub-manager of Climatology and Climate Services of the National Weather Service, Alejandro Jair García Jiménez.
