Nearly 400 Corpses Found on Site Near US-Mexico Border in 'House of Horrors'
- Last Thursday, police found 383 embalmed bodies stacked haphazardly across several rooms and the outdoor area of a privately owned crematorium located in Ciudad Juárez, following a citizen’s complaint about unpleasant odors.
- The crematorium, licensed to serve six local funeral homes, allegedly misled families by not cremating the bodies, some of which had been dead for up to four years.
- Officials found the corpses included 218 men, 149 women, 16 with undetermined gender, and four children including two newborns, all stacked without order, while relatives were often given other material instead of ashes.
