While no public report of 2025 explicitly confirms a U.S. investigation into the Mexican army as a whole, U.S. authorities are actively pursuing Mexican officials and entities involved in fuel theft and smuggling, a criminal activity linked to corrupt military and naval personnel. What is certain is that the Mexican authorities are also conducting their own investigations, but that happens under U.S. pressure.
