The citizens of Thessaloniki choose the Metro over buses and their private cars, as the reduction in travel time to less than 20 minutes and the quality of service are decisive factors.
Research by K. Milionis on the Thessaloniki Metro shows that short journey times and quality of service attract passengers from the bus. The study was based on questionnaires of 356 people and statistical analysis in 2025.
