On January 27, the Ministry of Health published a press release stating that it had received a notification from the European Regional Verification Committee for the Elimination of Measles and Rubella (CRV), an agency of the World Health Organization (WHO), indicating that, after evaluating the epidemiological and laboratory data of 2024, "endemic transmission of measles is considered to have been re-established in Spain."
