The weekend brings a gradual rise in temperatures in Portugal. It can give rise to a heat wave with values far above the average, according to Maria João Frada, of the IPMA.
The notice of the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) indicates that between the 21st and 27th of September the temperature will rise, with the warm and dry weather prolonging next week.
The IPMA now foresees a mass of hot and dry air on the Iberian Peninsula that should cause a "gradual temperature rise" with maximum values of 38 degrees in Alentejo and Vale do Tejo.
The weekend will remain changeable with some showers, but the sun will also be visible regularly. From Monday onwards, it will become drier and sunnier, and temperatures will rise again at the beginning of next week.
