More than 235,000 chickens will be culled at a poultry farm in Kosice, Hradec Králové. On Thursday, infection with the highly pathogenic H5N1 bird flu was confirmed there. This is the largest affected farm in recent years. The chicken houses are only half a kilometer away from the duck farm, where the infection was confirmed a week ago, on February 13. 6,800 ducks were culled.
Prague/Kosičky (Hradec Králové Region) - Veterinarians have confirmed the Hradec Králové bird flu in a commercial large-scale laying hen farm in the village of Kosičky. There are over 230,000 laying hens in the farm. All the poultry will have to be culled. Due to the large number and more demanding logistics, the animals will not be culled until the beginning of next week. The State Veterinary Administration informed ČTK about this.
