Convoy Arrives in Libya en Route to Gaza to Challenge Israel’s Blockade on Humanitarian Aid
- At least 1,500 activists from Algeria and Tunisia arrived in Libya's Zawiya city on Tuesday during their journey to Gaza via Egypt’s Rafah Crossing.
- The Sumud convoy began Monday in Tunis to protest Israel’s tightened blockade and military campaign that blocks humanitarian aid to Gaza.
- The convoy consists of around 15 buses and 150 vehicles and traveled through several Libyan cities while being hosted by local groups.
- Convoy organizer Terkiya Shayibi affirmed that despite existing limitations, convoys traveling by land, sea, and air are expected to reach Gaza, while participants chanted slogans supporting resistance.
- Organisers said the convoy aims to symbolically challenge the blockade and allow aid into Gaza, stressing readiness to camp if blocked at Egypt’s border.
