Allu Arjun Summoned by Hyderabad Court in Pushpa 2 Sandhya Theatre Stampede Case; Actor's Legal Team Reacts
The chargesheet names 23 accused, and police allege the theatre management failed to prevent overcrowding during the film premiere.
The Nampally Court in Hyderabad summoned Telugu actor Allu Arjun and 19 others to appear in person on Monday, June 22, for a hearing in the December 2024 Sandhya Theatre stampede case.
During the premiere screening of Pushpa 2 on December 4, 2024, outside Sandhya Theatre, a large crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of Arjun, triggering a fatal stampede.
The incident killed 35-year-old Revathi and left her eight-year-old son, Sri Teja, seriously injured; police allege theatre management failed to prevent overcrowding or implement adequate security measures.
Chikkadpally Police filed a chargesheet naming 23 accused, with Arjun listed as Accused No. 11 under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita provisions; he was arrested December 13, 2024, and later released on bail.
Allu Arjun and the film's producers extended financial assistance to the family, while the Telangana government also provided support as trial proceedings begin next week.
