Today the great Edin Dzeko will wear the jersey with the national coat of arms for the last time.
Džeko will end his rich and almost 20-year-long national team career tonight, with the A team, for which he made his debut on June 2, 2007, scoring a goal in a 3-2 win over Turkey. In the meantime, he has made 151 appearances and scored 73 goals, making him the record holder for Bosnia and Herzegovina in both categories.
Edin Dzeko will play his last international match when Bosnia-Herzegovina hosts Sweden in the Nations League. The football icon will be given a big tribute – with stuffed animals. “Every time I put on the shirt, I have felt a sense of pride,” says the 40-year-old, who did his best to hold back tears during Thursday’s press conference.
