Severance Favourite Joins Robert De Niro in First Look at Serial Killer Thriller as Release Date Confirmed

Netflix announced that its new thriller, The Whisper Man, will premiere on Friday, August 28. The film stars Adam Scott as a widowed crime writer, Robert De Niro as his retired father, and Michelle Monaghan as the lead detective.
Seeking his abducted eight-year-old son, Jake, the widowed crime writer turns to his retired father for help. Together they uncover connections to a decades-old serial killer known as "The Whisper Man."
Producing duties fall to brothers Joe and Anthony Russo, known for their Marvel blockbuster work on Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. The project adapts Alex North's bestselling novel.
De Niro, recently seen at CinemaCon, has long been an idol for his co-star Scott. Scott kept pictures of De Niro and Martin Scorsese taped inside his school locker.
Promotional materials promise the film will leave audiences with a "heart pounding" experience. It combines suspense with the star power of The Godfather actor De Niro and Severance lead Scott.
