The hydrological situation of Nistru and the alarming decrease in water volumes were discussed at a new extraordinary meeting of the Nistrene Commission. The authorities of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine continue to examine solutions for managing the situation and ensuring the water supply of the population, transmits MOLDPRES.
The water level in the Novodnistrovsk accumulation lake has fallen below the critical threshold of 111 meters. The authorities analyze several scenarios to prevent a crisis in water supply. One of the most vulnerable areas remains the Vadul de Voda capture station from where the water supply of Chisinau municipality is ensured. Today the Nistrene Commission meeting has also been convened to announce solutions to reduce the hydrological crisis.
