Senator John Boozman, Chairman of the US Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, expressed support for the two countries to move towards a fair reciprocal tax agreement.
The U.S. Treasury Department has determined that "no major trading partner" manipulated the exchange rate between its currency and the dollar in order to avoid effective balance-of-payments adjustments or gain an unfair competitive advantage in international trade in 2024, as stated in its Semi-annual Report on Macroeconomic and Change Policies of the United States' Main Trade Partners.
In the first semi-annual report of the US Treasury under President Donald Trump, the US affirmed that no major trading partner of Washington manipulated currency in 2024.
