A genocidal massacre is looming in the besieged Sudanese city of El Obaid, reports the international non-profit organization Genocide Watch. El Obaid, a city of half a million inhabitants, is in the hands of the Sudanese army but is surrounded by the militias of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). Observers fear a massacre similar to the one in El Fasher in February, when the RSF slaughtered some sixty thousand civilians in three days.
