The president of Bolivia, Luis Arce, resigned his candidacy as a candidate for first senator by the department of La Paz, less than seven weeks after the general elections of August 17, reported Thursday the presidential candidate of the ruling party, Eduardo Del Castillo. The resignation was presented to the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) just on the last day authorized to modify the lists of candidates.
According to the authority, the resignation is personal and in the case of women an interview is conducted to avoid cases of political harassment.
