On the 10th, "Brown Sugar Day," events to promote consumption were held throughout Okinawa Prefecture. At San-A Naha Main Place in Naha City, the Okinawa Prefecture Unrefined Sugar Countermeasures Council held a stage event and a sales fair. Brown sugar made on eight islands in the prefecture, as well as processed products such as ice cream and cakes made with brown sugar, were sold.
