‘The Sopranos’ Shared Studio Space with ‘Sex and the City’ but Not Meatballs
QUEENS, NEW YORK, JUL 20 – The Sopranos and Sex and the City shared studio space at Silvercup Studios but maintained separate catering, with The Sopranos guarding their Italian food, including meatballs, cast members said.
- Earlier this year, Kristin Davis revealed the Sopranos refused to share their catering at Silvercup Studios, highlighting the clash on 'Are You a Charlotte?' podcast.
- From 1999 to 2004, The Sopranos and Sex and the City ran concurrently, shared studio space and director Allen Coulter, underscoring their sibling-production status.
- Between takes, the Sex and the City cast and crew pleaded for meatballs, `Please, can we have some meatballs?` Kristin Davis explained, `the mob was keeping you away from the food.`
- In practice, during eating scenes, a spit bucket is standard, yet Sopranos actors silently emptied every meal `They just eat everything`, and SATC followed suit.
