- On Friday, July 31, The Smashing Pumpkins will headline Lollapalooza in Chicago, celebrating the milestone with citywide festivities dubbed 'Pumpkinpalooza.'
- Formed in Chicago in 1988, the group has sold over 30 million albums worldwide. Frontman Billy Corgan stated that contributing to the city's cultural fabric is a point of pride.
- Festivities begin Wednesday with a sold-out performance at the 2,500-capacity Riviera Theatre. Fans can visit a merchandise pop-up store at 900 S. Wabash Ave. daily through Friday.
- During the festival, attendees can visit Madame Zuzu's Celestial Lounge, an expansion of a teahouse run by Corgan and his wife, Chloë Mendel Corgan. The Aviary is debuting 'Infinite Mellons' cocktail.
- Following their Lollapalooza appearance, The Smashing Pumpkins will embark on 'The Rats In A Cage' tour this September. The run features two sets celebrating 'Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness' alongside career hits.
