On Thursday, at the start of Pau, the riders have their first big meeting with the high mountain. On the programme: a chain of the passes of Aspin and Tourmalet, before an unprecedented finish in Gavarnie-Gèdre.
The sixth stage will lead to the platoon from Pau to Gavarnie-Gèdre, on a journey of 186.2 kilometers and 4,149 meters of accumulated positive unevenness, with the legendary Col du Tourmalet as the main protagonist.

The second mountain stage of the Tour de France cycling race brings the climb up the legendary Tourmalet, a fairly gentle final climb and 4,100 meters of elevation gain, the second highest number in this year's Tour.
The Tour de France is set to feature a 186.2km sixth stage from Pau to Gavarnie-Gedre. The mountain stage, with 4,150 metres of elevation gain, will offer the favourites a chance to shake up the order at the top, including a climb of the famous Col du Tourmalet.
The Tour de France crossed the pass of the Tourmalet, this Thursday on the sixth stage. In the peloton, Jordan Jégat (TotalEnergies) will find a climb that he knows "by heart", his favorite pass.
