“The situation is changing”: why did Putin talk about lithium mining in Russia

Russia did not mine lithium for three reasons: cheap imports, lack of government support, and technology gaps. Thus, in an interview with RTVI, Oleg Abelev, head of the analytical department at Ricom Trust, commented on the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin that Russia should produce lithium and could start doing so 10-15 years ago.
