'We Are Shocked': Ukrainian Soldiers Return Home After Prisoner Exchange
Russia and Ukraine exchanged prisoners of war as part of an ongoing agreement that has seen busloads of prisoners-of-war cross the border both ways. RFE/RL's Ukrainian Service filmed returning soldiers reuniting with their loved ones.
After returning from Russian captivity, Ukrainian servicemen immediately undergo medical examination, treatment and rehabilitation in specialized institutions.
Ukraine and Russia have carried out another prisoner exchange. The defenders of Mariupol, wounded, sick and long-term prisoners, have returned home. According to Kiev, a number of civilians and missing people are among them.
The Coordination Headquarters of Ukraine for the Treatment of Prisoners of War reported on the seventh stage of the prisoner exchange with Russia.
