The prosecutor, accompanied by three police officers, demanded the issuance and took certain documents concerning the Monetary Policy Council, the National Bank of Poland said in a statement. The NBP claims that the seized materials were to be covered by legally protected secrets related to the work of the Monetary Policy Council.
NBP announced that in connection with the investigation into the suspicion of disclosing classified information marked as “secret”, Prosecutor Andrzej Piaseczny, accompanied by police officers, requested and received certain documents concerning the Monetary Policy Council at the headquarters of the central bank.
A prosecutor from the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, accompanied by police officers, entered the headquarters of the National Bank of Poland.
