The work around the cathedral will take place between spring 2027 and 2029-2030.
The town hall announced on Thursday morning that the resumption of crypt and underground parking is postponed sine die due to the flood risks pointed by the prefecture.
The project to rehabilitate the surroundings of the cathedral, which includes the courtyard, the banks of the Seine and two squares, will allow to double the number of trees on the surface. But the transformation envisaged for the reception of public in the basement is abandoned, due to the risk of flooding.
The City of Paris announced Thursday, September 17th that it would abandon the construction of the basement of the Parvis de Notre-Dame, but will double the number of trees planted around the cathedral.
