On Easter Sunday afternoon, in the spring sunshine, one of the most important symbols of Budapest was returned to the Hungarian nation. Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's speech opened the ceremony that concluded the multi-year, spectacular reconstruction of the Citadel. The previously closed military facility has since become a verdant community space, panoramic terrace and modern exhibition space open to everyone.
The prime minister quickly moved from the geological features of Gellért Hill to the moonstruck Brussels residents.
“Our Lord Christ is risen. Our Sunday began with this good news,” said Viktor Orbán in his speech at the inauguration of the renovated Citadel.
