Report: Wizards Won't Entertain Trade Offers for Anthony Davis
Washington is not listening to trade offers for Anthony Davis, who could seek a $275 million extension starting Aug. 6, sources said.
On Tuesday, the Washington Wizards confirmed they are not trading 10-time NBA All-Star Anthony Davis and will not listen to trade offers, ESPN's Marc J. Spears reported.
The Golden State Warriors previously signaled interest in acquiring Davis as a motivational tactic to lure LeBron James to San Francisco, league sources indicated.
Wizards general manager Will Dawkins views Davis and Trae Young as foundational pillars, prioritizing their development to elevate Washington into a playoff contender next season.
Davis has one year and $58.4 million remaining before a $62.7 million player option, though uncertainty persists given his injury history of appearing in just 243 of 410 games.
According to The Athletic's Sam Amick, any trade scenario involving a reunion in San Francisco appears to have "died on the vine," as Washington remains focused on climbing the Eastern Conference standings.
