Estonia's PPA increases patrols after Poland imposes checks on Lithuanian border
The Police and Border Guard (PPA) has increased patrols at Estonia's borders after Poland imposed checks on the Lithuanian border to combat the movement of migrants illegally crossing into the EU from Belarus.
Poland is preparing controls at the borders with Germany and Lithuania. A total of 5000 soldiers are expected to perform supporting tasks.
The controls of Germany at the border with Poland cause trouble in the neighbouring country. In response, the control is now also to be carried out in the other direction.
The Polish army is continuing to detail an effective 5,000 military force to support border controls with Germany and Lithuania, said the Major General, quoted by Dpa yesterday.
