At MERCA2 a few months ago we announced the problems that Primark’s matrix was carrying in its sugar business. Specifically, British Sugar, a subsidiary of Associated British Foods (ABF), has decided to close milling in the factories of Miranda de Ebro and La Bañeza, León; send beet to Toro and lower prices to illegal levels, well below production costs, specifically -40% compared to last year.
